<div align=left>Formed many centuries ago, the Pembroke Pirates were greatly skilled in a sport similar to Blood Bowl, dedicated to the mysterious ancient God known as Pez. In this game, they achieved their success through by adhering to one philosophy: "There's no tact in tanktics"

However, neither their opposition, or some of the chief enforcers of Pez's will, were happy with this rough-and-tumble playstyle. One particular official, known as Azan Ref, was a particularly bitter opponent of the team, and cracked down on tanktics whenever possible.

Eventually, Azan was able to gather enough support to banish the Pirates from the service of Pez altogether. Shunned, and with little reason to stay, the team went into exile, venturing around the world, and passing into obscurity.

Their tomb was uncovered by a powerful necromancer, who read with interest of their chronicled exploits. Raising as many of them from the dead as he could, he was delighted to find they still possessed their old instincts, if not as fast as they once were. The Pirates themselves were also pleased, as the necromancer introduced them to a sport far more suited to tanktics, one where it would even be encouraged: Blood Bowl!</div>
