To say the founding of the Scarlet Elves team was disastrous would be putting it lightly. The first game of the pre-season saw the end of B. Coleman and K. Glaud as both blood bowl players and living things, decimating the Scarlet elves in their inaugural game and nearly ending their season before it began. The Michigan Warp Wombats will forever be a team that haunts the Scarlet Elves... at least until vengeance is served... chilled of course... The second game against the Buffalo BullCentaurs was nearly as disastrous, as the Scarlet elves forfeited an early lead to face their second defeat, and barely escaping another (and almost certain season ending) fatality. While not as terrible as the first game, morale was at a terrible low, and snowballing fast... The third game of the pre-season came up against the UTEP Miners, a team not as skilled as the Buffalo BullCentaurs, and hopes were high going into the game. Alas it was not to be as the Scarlet elves were out numbered and out matched, getting crushed underfoot and losing their worst numerical game to date. The Elven moral was all but crushed, even though the elves had escaped any serious casualties for the first time... The fourth game... time was running out and the Scarlet Elves needed something... anything to cling to. The first of the replacements, B. Hartman was only one elf... but he may have well been the entire team. Indeed, against a very clever and sneaky halfling team, the Scarlet Elves managed their first victory of the season. B. Hartman was a force to be reckoned with, taking down two Flings and a Touchdown on his debut. With a solid victory behind it, the team had finally begun to come together, and prepared to gain their 11th member before the season opener... |
