Enigma's Old Rats
Retired [R] Underworld Denizens

Sometimes folks wonder what happens to all the players left behind on retired teams, or who were retired themselves. Most of them become drifters, wandering the world and looking for a purpose in their lives aside from Blood Bowl until they die. Sometimes the injured ones start working out, desperately trying to prove to someone out there that they're still good enough to play. Most of these tragic former stars (or not-quite-stars) end up working themselves quite literally to death, but a few lucky ones get picked up by a team again once their injuries stop manifesting quite so much. But it doesn't take long for the old scars to crop up again, and it usually isn't long until an old crippling injury is pushed back to breaking point and the player is again and properly crippled, or killed outright.

However, coach Enigma has an alternative solution; the crippled or out-of-a-job rats who had shortened careers for one reason or another are given a second, perhaps even better chance at stardom. They're used to playing with no one but other rats, especially those four cocky runts who always take the ball from them and score, never getting the glory for themselves. No more; this time around, the lowly linerats, the storm vermin and the throwers take the prize. Most of the old players on Enigma's skaven teams had no alternative, and gladly swiped up a chance to play on the pitch again. Sure they had to play alongside the tiny and mischievous goblins, but it was a small price to pay, and the increased status was more than worth the aggravation that the goblins would carry out at night with their little pranks and tricks.
