Hopeful Huggers

The Hopeful Huggers are an unfortunate bunch. They originally set up a hugging society, for those members of society who just felt there wasn't enough love in the world.

What they didn't know was that Grand Papa Nurgle is a big fan of love. And bodily contact. He saw this as the perfect opportunity to reward these fans of hugging...with a variety of infections, diseases and general unpleasantness.

Well I don't know about you, but the first thing I'd do if I became a massive tentacled daemon is to suggest Blood Bowl.

The Hopeful Huggers has promised hugs for any team that wants them. No takers so far...

Hopeful Huggers is almost half way through their first tournament and they're having a lovely time. Everytime they try to hug someone though, bits of that person keep falling off. The coach has advised that they hug extra hard for the remainder of the season...

Now that they're more than halfway through the tournament the divides are beginning to show. Some of the H.H. players have become so caught up in this new game they actually want to start playing!

Two souls have been lost in this hugging meat grinder: Eczema and Abscess. Both Rotters, but while Eczema had nothing to show for his time, Abscess had already learnt how to strip ball and was only a mere step away from further skills. A truly sad day for the H.H. when he departed.

During their fourth match, against Khemri side 'Suns of Sandwashed Bone', the H.H. were brutalised. During the closing of the match there were only 4 H.H. players left on the pitch: Measles, Jaundice, Gangrene and Chickenpox. There were 5 players KO'd, 2 Badly Hurt and 1 Killed! A hard lesson in maybe hugging the enemy that liiiittle bit harder before you're removed from the pitch...



After a run of one off games, Hopeful Huggers started a 3 game series against Human side 'Boy's Brigade'. The series was known as 'Blood, Sweat and Touchdowns' (or BST for short).

In the first game, 'Blood', played at the home stadium of 'Boy's Brigade', H.H. had one of their finest games. Managing to knock out around half the opposing team allowed them to run in 3 touchdowns to 1, as well as gain a new player in Thomas "the Engine", expand the skills of Lab, Noro and Influ and take the lead in the series. Only downside saw Rotter Quincy thrown onto the dung heap of death.
