The team arose after the gym members found that they needed funding for their gym. After they managed to acquire the funding, they all felt they'd had such fun in playing, that they'd keep the team.

This is where we find it today. An unlikely winning team as they play for the sake of playing not winning. This has garnered some derision from the more professional teams but admiration from the crowds.
