To while-away the long hours, the commanders of the Griffon Gate kept their forces sharp with games of Blood Bowl. Unfortunately for those in charge, the thrill of the game proved to be just too enticing for the players, many of whom quit their post to form their own professional team.

The newly formed Griffon Gate Sentinels set forth to find themselves a league (specifically one that put a safe distance between them and their vengeful commanders). This was how the Griffon Gate Sentinels ended up far, far from home, in the Southern Wastes.

The Trial of Blood
The Sentinels prepared for the SWL in the Trial of Blood.

SWL Season 53
The Sentinels promising start in the pre-season was put into perspective with 3 straight losses in the Dropbear Bitter Conference.

#2 Felaern As a child, Felaern was the sole survivor of a Dark Elf raid on his village. Anxious to stop history repeating, Felaern took up arms at the Griffon Gate as soon as he came of age. Over time, discipline lost out to anger, and before long he left his post for the chance at vengeance on the pitch with the Griffon Gate Sentinels.

Felaern's killer streak was quite evident, averaging more than a casualty every game (amongst which he killed 5 opponents) over his short 48 game career.

Eventually (and some would say fittingly) Felaern's career came to a violent end in the playoff game against Dark Elf team Steaked, where he was knocked to the ground and stomped to death.
Maybe history ended up repeating after all.

Winner of the SWL 54 Replacements Knuckledusters award for most casualties (12).

#3 Iefyr Scored the teams first ever touchdown in their inaugural game. A less enviable achievement is that of being the first Griffon Gate Sentinel to make the ultimate sacrifice on the pitch. Rest in peace Iefyr.
