The Loren community of Malorin has up until now held minimal standing in the Blood Bowl world. That isn't to say that they haven't had an impact; at least three all-star linemen have come from Malorin. But other than as a home for players to leave, Malorin has stayed away from creating their own Blood Bowl team, namely because they have enough trouble training soldiers without having to care for a team as well. This all changed when Elor Calilith, a retired catcher for the Athelorn Avengers proposed the creation of the Marauders as a morale booster for the soldiers on leave or in training. The Elders were skeptical, but eventually caved, as the idea of a team for Malorin was a popular concept that had been passed around for a while. Malorin has converted an old parading ground into a basic Blood Bowl stadium that seats up to 100,000, although because Malorin's populace hasn't warmed up to their team yet it hasn't reached its capacity. The stadium was given the name of Marauder Plaza by the Elders, who couldn't think of anything mystical enough. Elor decided that a team should have a strong foundation, and to fit this he hired 10 rookie linemen who had shown promise in the junior leagues of Loren. He also hired the decorated war hero Ren Galilmandir to lead the team, knowing that his vicious fighting style and leadership abilities would help the team immensely. |
