............. .......Coach - Manzoo....................Race - Khemri............Colors - Gold & Blue .......Liche Priest - Manetho........Nick Names - The Goats / The Devils Background Bloodbowl wasn’t always so popular. In ancient times, before Nehekhara became the Land of the Dead, people enjoyed a more civilized and elegant game. The game was Sokra, and the greatest team was the Khemri City Devils. Did you know? In one glorious season, they achieved the impossible by winning all five of Nehekhara’s major trophies. Full of themselves, the Devils loved nothing better than playing for Khemri and their king. Their king, Settra the Imperishable, had many obsessions: world domination, immortality, and his pet cats Gamal and Kapes. However, his biggest by far was the Devils. Each and every Saturday, he was at their colosseum perched on his giant throne cheering as loud as any die-hard fan. For all his life, his love never wavered. Even on his death bed, he made his Liche priests promise that he would return to watch his team again. Trusting in their faith, he ordered the priests to build a giant pyramid for the Devils, a tomb almost as big as his. After the king's funeral, the players, with their medals and trophies, entered their tomb honored to die for their king. Unlike Settras’s pyramid, The Devils’ was never sealed. King Settra had wanted it packed full of the greatest players of all time, “My Goats, ready for my return”, as he had put it. And, so, each season, the Liche Priests continued looking for the best players. Neither fame nor fortune mattered; immortality was the new prize. Thousands of superstars, hundreds of coaches and many beautiful cheerleaders were buried in that pyramid. Finally, after hundreds of years, it was sealed. It loomed over the colosseum reminding players and fans alike of Settra’s Goats. The Goats waited a long long time to return.......What price had they paid for immortality? Finally, when they awoke, everything they had known was gone. The colosseum and the city were ancient ruins. The cheering fans and the beautiful game had vanished. They were appalled to see their once muscular bronze bodies, developed from years of hard work and dedication, were now pale thin bones. Their agile limbs that helped them dodge and leap like wood elves, were clumsily held together by a strange rigid force. What horrified them the most, (yes, much worse than being a skeleton for eternity) was that their King had long forgotten them. According to one of the Tomb Guardians, he was last seen, gallivanting in the north watching his new favourite team play his new favourite sport, Bloodbowl! The Goats, believing they were still the greatest, had a residue of pride deep inside them. They would play this barbaric game. With every punch, foul, and dirty trick, they’d win back their respect, and with every gouged eye and smashed collar bone, they’d win back their fans. They had new strengths now: durability, unquenchable rage, and giant Tomb Guardians. As ghastly as they were, these guards were good in a fight and loyal. In fact, maybe they could enjoy this vulgar sport. Maybe they were made for bloodbowl after all. Seasons text goes here Players text goes here |
