The Defiled City long stood abandoned even before the vile ratmen of Clan Pestilens spewed forth from their deep tunnels and infected it with their filth. It became the greatest colony of the skaven until the Great Serpent defeated the Horned Rat and the vermin were driven from Lustria.

Yet Quetza remained desolate for millennia, shunned by the Lizardmen as a place still bearing the taint of the Skaven's vile diseases. The world changed around it, with the rediscovery of Blood Bowl and the end of war. Lizardmen teams became some of the most famous and successful in the world. Long ruined temple cities were restored to glory and new stadia erected to accomodate the hordes of fans flocking to Lustria to watch the games. And yet the Defiled City remained abandoned.

In the Summer of 25__ one of the near-mythical Coatl, the great feathered serpent guardians of the sacred places, returned to the city heralding the first spawnings of Lizardmen there in thousands of years. These new inhabitants are determined to restore Quetza to glory and have started by doing the most important thing one can to put a city on the map - founded a Blood Bowl franchise of their own.
