Doctor Phankenstein was pleased with his newly animated constructions. He was especially pleased with recent large hybrid constructions Bill n Ben, who were solid builds and truly immovable. The large wolf he'd found decomposing in the local woods, under the light of a waxing moon, had come together again surprisingly well too. No doubt his necromantic skills were improving, but he noticed his laboratory Fetishes were growing restless and he needed a new challenge. A flier for a local SnotBowl match had caught his eye.... and under a beam of moonlight an idea arrived: What better way than to let them coordinated and working together as a BloodBowl team!? Phrankenstein was concerned about the financial lunacy of the big league.... but once conceived, he couldn't shake the concept; imagining himself immersed in the glamour of a successful coaching career (Mostly centred around Spike magazine photo-shoot afterparties surrounded by gothic cheerleaders and what he might be able to achieve with their spare parts). ...And so after appropriate ministrations to Nuffle, re-mortgaging his crumbling mansion and a set of not too holey shirts had been acquired.. ... we introduce Phrankenstein's Lupin Lunacy. Game One: #10 Jhurrg Fresh Zombie – Dead (RIP) (Just as smelly, but not reusable sadly, too broken by Meister Hof) Game Two: #11 Erghh Zombie -Dead (RIP) (Utterly destroyed by wrath of Anubis (Tomb Guardian)... again nothing reusable not even for parts) Game Three: #1 Bill promising Flesh Golem -Dead (RIP) (Killed by Heretic {in a 1DB = BothDown, Armour roll[6][6], Injury roll[6][4], Casualty roll[6][7], Regen roll [2]}. Bill's gentle ham-fist nature was beloved by all here at the Lab. He will be sorely missed by everyone in the team and behind the screams ahem scenes. His career cut sadly short 1 mvp from his first skill, that in this instance would've saved him. At least one of the arms looks salvageable though) Nuffle's will. Dr Phrankenstein looked at his financial accounts and shook his head in silence.... Game Four: Yay....Nobody died! (well from the Phrankenstein's lab anyway). Fortunately Duane had an epiphanic death, and decided to switch to our team in time for the second drive! Following some modest winnings we were able to buy in the lovely Kay Knigh'n, who will be playing next game. Dr Phrankenstein reflected that whilst the league Scoreboard was looking good, Funds were still looking very tight and will need a couple of good results to afford enough parts to put Bill back together... :) Game Five: #9 Ghah Zombie -Dead (RIP) Notable mostly for having survived the previous 4 games!, shambling about and heroically throwing a few optimistic blocks. His absence whilst not as tragic as Bill's, once again reduces the team to makeweights, whilst saving for Bill's bodily replacements and ECT procedure. All the pre-game Soaking of paws in "Dwarfbane", seemed to have only made the claws go soft, as they repeatedly failed to hurt anyone. Only moments before the final whistle had they dried out sufficiently to knock a fellow out...so won't be trying that again! Game Six: Yay....Nobody died! AND...the winnings afforded suitable equipment and acquisition of enough of Ted to fix up Bill's salvageable remains into something resembling his former self. It will probably take a few games to get into his stride... but everyone is really pleased he's back on his feet (or at least Ted's). Duane wasn't willing to give back his shirt (having decomposed into it quite alot)...so Bill has stretched on Ghah's former #9 kit! At the end of the first season Dr Phrankenstein considered his team's fortunes. No mistake it'd been hard. Sometimes lucky, often not and he'd only just managed to scrape a full squad together by the final match of season. But Pole position was certainly an unexpected bonus he thought, allowing a self-gratifying smile to creep across his pallid face. Game Seven: Yay....Nobody died!... #12 Herugh – got a Broken Neck, but to be fair it was always a bit wobbly. Ben did a good job of bashing of the Mad King and is showing real proficiency for the game. Duane earned his rights to the #1 shirt Badly Hurting Bane the Golem... credit to other former Great Dain: Ziggi for his heroic solo sacking in later stages of first half, preventing an otherwise hard to stop Touchdown. Dr Phrankenstein is most pleased Bill kept his stitching in place! Game Eight: #7 Lunard the Lupine -Smashed Ankle...Poor Lunard will be left with a permanent limp at best, but only after a proper rest. As team's star Wolf some of the Players are a little concerned. It was a typical heroic blitz to prevent a TouchDown that never happened, alas he was doing the right thing but accidents gonna happen... and much, much better than dead. Kay Knigh'n has stepped up his game, and hopeful to have his chance to shine as Alpha dog! Game Nine: #9 Bill(and bits of Ted) -Smashed Jaw. Alice cooper hit Bill(n bits of Ted) so hard their parts went in opposite directions! and clearly not gonna be fixed by next game! Game Ten: Yay....Nobody died! ... A little regeneration required after an accident with some "falling Masonry" and Team struggled with coordination skills quite a bit until moments before final whistle.... but all unalive and kicking for next game! Game Eleven: Very pleased to welcome former Mental Elf, Star player Garry to the squad. He does seem to have lost a lot of his former flair, but is fitting in well with the squad sporting the #12 shirt! Thankfully Bill (and bit's of Ted)'s stitching managed to hold up... but his progress over the whole season has been rocky and he goes into the final game without any progression. Despite many thumbs still not being correctly orientated or sufficiently corporeal... the claw softener seems to have finally worn off and everyone laid waste the the tricksy elves with relish. Whilst this is of great relief... ball focus is certainly going to be discussed in the dugout before next game! Game Twelve: The Final. Nobody died or even got badly injured! Team completely alive and well! And.... .........Won the championship!! Dr Phrankenstein couldn't believe his luck! The interviews, the endorsements, fixing the leaky roof with the excess team budget and maybe having a little holiday somewhere warm. Nuffle be praised! :) |
