Formed in the shadow of Mount Grimfang, the Scavengers began their careers as highwaymen, preying on caravans traveling the Silver Road. By chance one day they waylaid the caravan of Lucius the Keen, a Tilean merchant and avid Blood Bowl fanatic. As King Ulfhammer strode forward to claim his head, Lucius noted the strength of the group and, thinking quickly, made them an offer: two of the most precious gems to have ever been crafted could be theirs, along with plenty of other coin. While usually they would have cared little for gems, these orcs were tiring of their lives skulking about the feet of the great Grimfang Mountain, attacking travelers, never sure of their next meal. Instead of killing Lucius, they listened as he told them tales of Blood Bowl: the violence, feasts, and fans. The legendary battles against races of all kinds. And, of course, the Golden Gem.

In the end, the greenskins begrudgingly agreed to take on a new career: as a Blood Bowl team. Lucius would provide the team transport, gear, lodgings, and food, as well as taking on some coaching duties. The orcs and goblins provided the muscle. As luck would have it, Lucius was an amateur apothecary who had stumbled on to the secrets of a miracle elixir for ailments of all kinds: Lucius the Keen's Kleen Dreems Tonic. As the team traveled from city to city he would take advantage of the crowds of Blood Bowl fans to hawk his miracle cure, with the profits funneling back into the team's salary. And as a bonus, each player was allowed one free bottle of Kleen Dreems Tonic each (effects may vary), you know, in case of injury.
