Team History
The Frankonian Falcons have been founded shortly after the NAF collapse in 2489, when many formerly well-funded teams faced financial challenges while high-born nobles lost their interest in the sport.

Open to all game-loving elves who wanted their fame and slot on the starting roster be based on their achievements on the gridiron instead of their family’s treasury, the Falcons gathered brethren and sisters from Ulthuan, Athel Loren and even Naggaroth. This openness was also the basis for the team’s name: frank and free. As a tribute to this new and free start with the Falcons, and sometimes also to avoid unpleasant questions about their past, all players still give up their names and birth privileges when entering the team. Instrad, everybody is known by the nickname they got from their teammates. Which is in most cases based on their playstyle and role on the pitch.

As an unintended prove to the openness to all elven kingdoms the first six players signing contracts with the Frankonian Falcons were distributed equally between the towers of Naggaroth, the lakes of Ulthuan and the woods of Athel Loren.

‘Witch’ and ‘Dark One’. Twins of opposite sex who showed up at the training fields silently one day. Noone ever since heard one of them speak, but it does not prove to be a disadvantage to the game.

Where 'Witch' and 'Dark One' are silent, 'Hawk' and 'Swift' are the opposite. Always laughing and chatting they are the good heart of the team. Rumors say they are a female Wardancer and an atypical brawny Catcher who left the forests of Athel Loren. But despite all their good temper, no one knows for sure because they both fall silent whenever the topic changes to this past.

'Force' and 'Deal-Out' also follow the team’s spirit and never raised a word to claim any privileges. But their attitude and composure prove clear evidence for their former lives in the noble dwellings of Ulthuan.

Coaches Corner
1:0 @ Co conut hunters (High Elf)

'Our match against the Co conut hunters was very physical and we will need some time to treat our wounded before we can celebrate the win.' coach D. Saster replied to the present press during the post match conference.

'But I want to highlight the moral of this team. We were down to four players, our highborn cousins only inches from our endzone and we successfully defended five more turns for our win.' Whispers could be heard in the room when news agents reminded each other of the incident not too long ago when the coach gave up early and destroyed a whole team.

Regardless of the blood spilled from suffered neck injuries and a broken arm the Frankonian Falcons left the pitch heads held high.

2:0 @ Vioce of the Gleen (Wood Elf)

'Another very intense match. This time against our brethern from the deep forests of Athel Loren. Our strategy to remove some players from the pitch seemed to work out in the first quarter, but we were forced to score earlier than we wanted and lost players ourselves. It was a tough fight in the second half, but in the end our sessions in the gym paid off and we were able to out-muscle the tree-loving catchers.'

(Coach D. Saster at the post match conference)
2:2 @ Chiquitines vigorosos!! (Halfling)

'As I told you during the break you did a great job in the first half. We got the numbers quickly and our score was never really threatened. But! Next week we will need to find some time to train for the kick. At least with some of you. That touchback was very bad and was a key facilitator for the counter just seconds before the half ended. Let's see if we can find something to improve on our setup as well.

Second half is another story. Waht went wrong allowing us the 2:1 lead for the Halfling? Was it only very bad luck or we missed something big there.

So now get some rest and think. Training will start the day after tomorrow again!'

(Coach D. Saster in the locker rooms after the match)
'Thank you for showing up for today’s mid-season press conference. Before we start, I would ask you all to rise and observe a minute’s silence in memory of the recent losses to our beloved team. Aesali Basil and Angry who got murdered on the pitch by a sneaky foul or off the pitch by the raging rabble.

Coming back to every day’s tasks is not easy after such an incident, but we need to try and keep our professional attitude. We all need to remind ourselves we are mortals. A life can end quickly and without warning. Even more on the gridiron. And those losses will be hard to take. Harder even the more we are engaged. Does that mean we should avoid all engagement to reduce the hardness of a loss. Should we not love, not adore? No! That is not the right answer to certain losses and certain sorrow. But we should embrace and esteem the time we have together.

I know you all know about the ugly episode of my past with ‘The Union’. There I made the wrong decision based on wrong reasoning. I was angry about the fouling, I was frustrated we could not find an opening to Score and I was afraid of even more harm to my players. Here as well: Does it mean I should not honor my players? Not protect them? No and no again, but I need to remember this: If I announce the right moves and people get hurt, there is nothing I can do about it. So, it is up to me to learn, to get better, to make the right decisions… and stay calm. Even in times of brutality and loss.

Today, in the face of our honored fallen heroes, I want to promise this. I will never let the team go down again. No matter the losses we may need to bear in the future.

That is all I wanted to say for today. Thank you very much for showing up and see you after our next match.'
