| At the sea-mouth of the River Reik stands the world's largest and richest marketplace Marienburg, with both the Empire and Bretonnia eyeing its wealth and location. In 2485 Long John Silver was authorized by letter of marque to seize or destroy merchant vessels of Bretonnia. He set his course for the northern coast of Bretonnia. Within 2 years, Long John captured 16 vessels, all of which were plundered and burned. His successful era came to an abrupt end in April 2487, when his ship was hit by an intense storm, completely capsizing and destroying his ship. Only 11 men survived this tragedy. Long John and his few rescued crew members made their way back to Marienburg where they found themselves now without work and money. Suprisingly, a luring, well paid - and above all a legal - deal was offered. A noble man, who wanted to have his own Blood Bowl team as a status symbol, needed hardened men for players. As expected, the offer was accepted without hesitation. Then began the heavy training. In 2488 these men are ready for their first season. Still, they live up to their pirate standards. An honourable opponent will be shown given. If enraged, however, no mercy will be shown. No Quarter Given. |
