The Nuln Nighthawks Team, despite its name, does not originally come from Nuln. It is the former D'ok Darktongues, a Dark Elf team based in and around Ek'h Dorien ("Fort Darktongue"), a medium sized Dark Elf encampment led by Lord Ghivien "Longsword" D'ok. Lord Ghivien had been one of the minor supporters to a failed coup on the Witch King himself, and ironically the anger of the Witch King was what saved him since the few conspirators who had known of his engagement were executed before they had been thoroughly questioned. Still, Lord Ghivien had financial connections to a lot of the coup makers (indeed, his only contributions had been of a monetary sort) and so, a lot of his trading network was lost with the deaths of the conspirators. With failing income, the influence and power of House D'ok rapidly fell, and Lord Ghivien was "offered" a position as commander of Fort Darktongue. After a while, some of the younger nobles of House D'ok grew bored with life "in the country", and decided to form a Blood Bowl team. They quickly became quite succesful, and went on a round-the-world trip to play games versus all-comers. A few weeks after the departure of the team, captained by Count Harien "Blade" D'ok, Fort Darktongue was destroyed in a raid by unknown soldiers coming over the Sea of Chaos. Being the few remaining members of House D'ok, Count Harien and his team found a benefactor in the Imperial city of Nuln, changed their name to Nuln Nighthawks, and applied for membership of the Old World Football League.
