| Captain Dethenielis Kyot was amazed when his team received the call-up to turn professional - and was entered into one of Nuffle's premier leagues. <i>Finally</i>, he thought, <i>I'm getting the recognition that I deserve as one of Galadrieth's top captains!</i> Sadly, no one wanted to tell him that it was all a terrible mistake, and the only reason that his team were capering around playing to packed out stadiums was that one of the advertising goblins had made a mistake on the booking form. They'd been booked as the rather better-known <i>Gladiators</i>, and the league organisers were hoping that no one would notice. The crowds loved it - they got to see one of the biggest teams in history play at their local stadium. The opposition loved it - they got to play one of the biggest teams in history, and feel like they were doing well. And the <i>Guardians</i> loved it - they got to struf their stuff with the big boys... although they did wonder why the crowds kept shouting for Eldril Sidewinder.... |
