Kraka Thunder is dug into the hard granite in the North-most reaches of the World's Edge Mountains far beyond the High Pass. Its clansmen are considered to be bluff, vulgar, and somehow lacking in proper "Dwarf-ethic" by their Southern cousins. Who put this down to the Northern diet of salted fish traded from Norscans and re-hydrated dried pea powder. The Hold is perforated with lime stone quarries, coal mine shafts and coke furnaces. Its occupants work a strict forty eight hour schedule, consisting of: thirty two hours at the work face, eight hours in the ale halls and eight hours of rest. This is generally considered further cause for their Southern cousins to consider them lazy. With little else to do the Hold has developed a strong and intricate ale hall culture with an emphasis on the Bloodbowl team. The Team motto is: 'Salt me a Haddock, I'll be back for breakfast.' The Team song is: 'I gribbled your mother with my apprentice spanner.' A profane (and illegal) old drinking song. The third verse, about the Goblins, is considered particularly humorous (and particularly illegal). Nicknames: "The Thunderers"& "The Chosen Chappies".
