| The dust had settled and Sotek's Small Blessings had won the match. The victory, however, was utterly pyrrhic. B'kanthi looked on as four of her cutest little ones lay prostrate in the dugout, moaning in pain, with bones sticking out from where they really had no place being. She ran her fingers over the ugly brace encasing her neck, a nasty reminder that she had come close to joining them. Still, her spirit was undaunted. She had been quite literally made to play this game, and by god she wasn't going to be stopped by this horrifying incident. Gathering her remaining little ones and inducting a few of her more ardant (and muscular) admirers, B'kanthi set out onto the field once more with her team of beauties. This time it would be different. This time, she would not be so lax in her attentions. This time, her charges would not suffer under her neglect. This she vowed as she admired herself in her portable mirror, turning this way and that so that her oiled scales caught the light, barely noticing as the football ricocheted off her armoured back as the team practiced around her. |
