| The Keepers of Ulgu are without doubt one of the most powerful organisations in the Old World, with several of their members holding peerlessly high ranking positions within the three allied races: Elves, Men and Dwarves. Their power extendeds as far North as Praag, as far South as Araby, as far East as Cathay and as far West as the great land of Ulthuan itself. In order to enter the organisation you must be willing to sacrifice everything in order to protect the world from the darkness which looms always on the threshold of civilisation, you must be a capable and worthy warrior, you must be a shining example amongst your race, you must have courage beyond reckoning.......... You must be able to lighten the hell up once in a while. The Keepers of Ulgu are a group of friends, people who simply want to do what is right using the skills that the gods have given them. They spend hour upon hour in raucous drinking competitions and celebrating festivals of their religions. They wander the world lending a hand to those in need, be they simple peasents mending the colapsed roof of a barn or a mighty lord under attack from a hoard of evil fiends. They accept whatever hospitality is given to them and leave without asking for a thing, simply moving on to the next settlement. Oh, and they also play Bloodbowl once in a while. The founder of the Keepers is ‘Unknown’, a name given to him many years previously by his aide (Esil Bequin) after he discovered that he genuinely had no name. He is an elf of unparallelled martial prowess and set up the group with the simple goal of making life better for any good soul he came across. His personality is as changeable as the wind itself, one minute laughing and joking and the next tearing into an opponent with ferocity that beggars belief. The remainder of the group is as varied as they come, ranging from Dwarven Master-Smiths to Reiksguard Knights and Elven Archmages. Together they make a formidable force, equally able to grind you into the dirt, run the ball into the end zone or turn back a tide of ravenous demons from the pits of hell. Actually, that’s a lie. They leave most of the running to their captain. |
