| The Erengard Ravens - bio originally formed 30 years ago as the "Erengard Eagles" to compete in the amatuer leagues around Erengard, there first fifteen seasons started mediocre, rampaged through bad and slammed into disasterous. The teams organisers were considering shutting up shop until a famous amatuer blitzer named Dieter Raven joined the team. Dieter quickly took over captaincy, and soon ownership of the team as his intense training regimes pushed the team up the rankings in the amateur league and finally, 2 years ago, into the semi-professional leagues. The Semi-professional leagues hit the Ravens hard, they lost there first 4 matches, with many casualties weakening the team. Even Dieter was outclassed by the Semi-pro's he faced. however, Dieter was not egotistical, he studied there opponents tactics religiously and pushed his team into ever harder training regimes, and soon the Ravens were holding there own. they were still losing 4 out of 5 games, but they were no longer being decimated. Then one day Dieter came across a half-ogre named Jurgen Brikfeist in a local tavern, and managed somehow to get him on the team. this signalled a meteoric rise to success within the Semi-pro leagues, Jurgen gave the team the hitting power they needed. now, after dominating the Erengard Semi-pro's for a season, and after a summer of the most intense training yet, the Erengard Ravens are finally ready to makea stab at the big time, The professional leagues. excerpts from the journals of dieter raven: date: 21/09/05 i write this note in my journal from the chirurgeons bed. i have missed the last few matches that the ravens have played and this pains me greatly. however, our dismal start to the league has picked up, we have drawn larger and larger crowds, and newer better players. Jurgen is back after some time away and this bolsters our line considerably. however, many of the team are suffering from recurring injuries, myself included. sometime in the next few games i will have to retire them from the team, to replace them with younger players. this pains me as i cannot retire the others, without retiring myself. leaving the fields to manage and coach the team will be painful, but the "lucans" blitz with the best of them, im sure the team will be in good hands on the field |
