30/08/06 - So close to a two-man TD against a full team of Skaven!

Welcome to the underdog team of the year!

Games 15-20 have all been played with a starting lineup of less than 10 players, and throughout the game have whittled down to five players - in one game, I was even down to two players against a full team! This is a result of twelves casualties in 21 games; a gutter runner, two throwers, a stormvermin, a rat ogre, and 7 linesman, coming to a total cost of $790,000 - over half the current team value of $1,280,000. Naturally, I've lacked the funds to keep my team fully stocked with players, and so any player that is able to stand is kept on - prime example being Yit-Yat, who is a linerat with no skills, n, -ma, n and is still on the team!

Yet Quik-Quik reborn, with their traditional doggedness, refuse to give up, and fought back. Against an 11-man ogre team with only five players, the team wonder-rat Zikkit-Zoom recieved a pass from the now-deceased thrower Trixy-Dixy and scored the only TD for the game, winning it for the team. Several games later, the team was down to only two players - the star player Zikkit-Zoom, and the elite linesrat Bink, both of whom have been with the team almost since the beginning. The opportunity for a two-man one-turn TD was there, but unfortunately Bink couldn't make it, and royally screwed up.

The team is buoyed up only by the skill of its gutter runners - in particular, ZZ and Trik-Nat, who are both star players, but also Nee-Noo has had his share of help. All these gutter runners have Leap, while ZZ and Trik-Nat are both able to score 1-turn TDs - something very handy if I find myself needing a desparate win to pay for a dead rat! Leap has proven the key factor in the team's efforts, with the gutter runners being able to jump out of 7-player encirclements to snatch balls and assist blocks made by the very able Bokker-Zippat and his durable companion, Snikky-Snikky.
