The History of the Blackwater Fleet: Once, a very skilled Norse raider called Goberlunk decided to break away from his captain's command to make even more of a profit for himself. Stealing the ship Pelican's Pride and its crew, Goberlunk made a run for it, only to be trapped by the captain's allies. As the battle ensued, the captain came straight for Goberlunk, but Goberlunk fatally injured his ex-commander. With his dying words, the man cursed Goberlunk and his ship, saying, "as long as this ship treads on water, it shall bear the heaviest burden of all, that of the sea." Their captain having died, the enemies retreated and Goberlunk was free to rein as he wished. Mocking the dead man's words, he re-named the ship Sea Burden and began his own history of raiding and pillaging. After having breifly played for coach Oblitzamanger, Goberlunk decided to rename the group as the Blackwater Fleet. Unfortunately, Goberlunk died soon after from illness (with a sword in his hand). His son, Goberlark, took over command of the ships, but being new to the way of the viking, he decided to go back to an old friend for help... The Seven Ships of the Blackwater Fleet: The Sea Burden, originally the Pelican's Pride, was Goberlunk's first ship. Having been through the most battles, it is very stubborn and the most reliable of all the ships. It is the leading ship and the location of the captain's headquarters. Warriors from this ship tend to be headstrong. Current Captain: Goberlark The Orange Bow was a trading ship, but was converted by Goberlunk after it was captured. Its unique orange bow was a symbol of peace for the peoples who used the trading vessel. Goberlunk never re-painted it so that he could decieve unwary traders. Warriors from this ship tend to be crafty. Current Captain: Krothgor The Troll was a deep boweled ship characteristic of the Dark Elves. Goberlunk found it abandoned on a coastline and couldn't resist snatching it up. Deep inside the ship, the various monsters that the crew uses in battle are chained up. Warriors from this ship tend to be large. Current Captain: Corelith The Crag was built for Goberlunk as a special forces vessel. Designed specially for battle, it is equipped with many different and deadly weapons. Warriors from this ship tend to be skilled. Current Captain: Rulf The Mermaid's Gift was acquired as a gift from a mermaid who fancied Goberlunk. She also have him a special necklace. The ship is enhanced by magical properties, the most noticable of which are its incredible speed and knack for crippling blows to "bounce off" the hull. Warriors from this ship tend to be fast. Current Captain: Xerntiles The Hunt is a tracking ship originally used by the Empire to hunt down pirates. Goberlunk of course had his way with the royal navy and made it his own. She is now used to take down merchant vessels. Warriors from this ship tend to be strong. Current Captain: Aegiscus The Horned Rat is a small ship that holds most of the medical material and food supply. Captured in a raid, the ship is indespensable and excellent as a lookout ship. Warriors from this ship tend to be agile. Current Captain: Mengold News: <marquee>Game 3: 0 - 1 : Fleet forced to concede game versus Chaos Dwarves. - RIP Ivodd.</marquee> |
