Having no friends proved to be a problem, because they couldn't form a decent team. That's why the idea of hiring bums from the bad part of town seemed like a good idea at that moment. In the first team meeting, Fatso announced: "Welcome, men! As you all know, you have been summoned here to form a decent team of blood-bowl. First, we must choose a name for our team. I suggest "Superheroes". "Team name "Superheroes" is already taken". "Who said that? Ok, nevermind, we will be "The Superheroes" then. All in favour?" ***zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzzz*** "Good. The second question today is: who will be the key player in our team?" Stray dog Greedy put his paw up: "I could". "You. A dog?" "Woof woof". "All right, you convinced me. So, we have a team name and a key player. The captain of the team will be me, of course. We now must decide who will be the line fodder". "Fodder? You mean someone will be foddered?" - Biggy wondered. "Yes. Three volunteers will be foddered after each game". Several men volunteered. ----- <b>After first game</b> ----- Fatso, having done nothing worth mentioning in the game, said: "Well done, lads. We creamed those humans well. Although it ended in a tie, I'm confident about our chances. What do you say?" Lady called Femine spoke: "Meh, bloodbowl proved to be not as interesting as I expected. I think I'll leave the team". "Ah, come on, Fem. I'll give you MVP to keep your morale up". "Deal". Fatso's best friend, Loose, wasn't very happy about this decision: "But man, i made 2 casualties in this game and clearly was a key player, along with stray dog Greedy. While dogs can't get MVP, I should get it!" "Be silent, my friend. Keeping Femine in the team could prove the best decision I've made in the future. Our next opponent is Amazons, and Femine knows everything about them." Loose glared at Fem and muttered: "We will see, we will see......" Fatso continued: "Also, due to lack of money I had to make a tough decision: I sold our team to the local necromancer. He will repair our stadium, attract more fans and fund our team. His only condition was to rename the team. Now we will be known as Notorious." Everyone in the team started to scream and shout: "No, no, we don't want to be commanded by a necromancer! It's unimaginable!" "What's done is done", - Fatso replied to them. "As a gift, the necromancer hired a new player. Here he is - meet Diesel Getee II." Only now the crew spotted a tiny creature sitting in the corner. He was clearly sick: flesh was falling off his bones, blood was dark and thick. Only the eyes remaind human. The crew walked off the locker room, thinking the same thing: "Well, maybe it's not so bad that necromancer owns us now. He'll fund us, so we have good chances in this league. The change of team name is strange thou, but names don't win games." Only Biggy, line fodder, couldn't calm down. He suspected something. He knew: something terrible will happen.... ----- <b>After second game</b> ----- Yet again, Fatso proved to be worse player that average. But the team defeated the amazons and were happy about it. Fatso spoke: "My friends, this is our first victory. This is the start of something big! We will be famous in no time!" Fatso, having studied the basics of personnel management lately, awarded his friend Loose the MVP, so he could forget the first game against humans. Fatso continued: "Our mentor Necromancer is happy about the effort we made in this game, and promised to hire new players for our team. Our next opponent is Khemri, and our owner insists we better win it, because he has some old deeds with that race." "Fatso, i'm concerned about our teams' health. Recently most of us got some sort of allergy, and our skins became pale and not-so-lively... This is not how a human team must look like....", - Biggy wondered. "Right, human..........", - Fatso muttered to himself. "Go see our doctor, Mr. Apothecary". "I've tried calling him, but he didn't respond. He didn't show up this game". "Don't worry, I'll find him." After the team members left the locker, only Fatso remained. He was preparing for his next speech, because he knew: after the match against Khemri team-mates will understand what the real situation is. They will find that they are more similar to Khemri than Humans lately..... ----- <b> After third game</b> ----- Team captain, Fatso, did nothing as usual, he spent his time commanding the others and did that well. Best team performers were Righteous and stray dog Greedy, both scoring TD a inflicting a cas. Fatso was very happy about the newly recruited human blitzers, Diesel Gettee2, performance. Righteous showed marvelous running skills and earned +MA. Goblin will try blocking his opponents the next game. Yet another blitzer, Salah-al-Din, was recruited by the necromancer. Another ghoul joined the gang. ............................................ Whispers and mutters echoed the room as Fatso entered. "Well done, my friends! 4-0 is glorious victory indeed. Our owner is happy and is sending us some backup hired from the beaten Khemri. I also would like...". "Sorry to interrupt your boring speech", - Biggy interrupted, "but why was it so hard for us to recognise teammates on pitch, when playing against khemri? I almost blocked my own teammate..." "We don't feel like humans anymore!", - screamed the others. "OK, this seems like a good time to tell the truth. Our new owner decided we will do better if we....mutate to more advanced forms..." "<b>W</b>hiskey <b>T</b>ango <b>F</b>oxtrot, over", - echoed the locker room. "It can't be changed now, you better get used to it.
