Rattus lutreolus, or the "Swampies" as they are known by their few fans, began as a group of like minded individuals gathering in the rancid swamps of the south to cause as much pain and suffering as possible during raids on neighbouring nests. Such was their skill at this that it was not long before a budding coach named <a href="/~Barre">Barre</a> arrived to try and mould these dastardly vermin into a lean mean bloodbowl team. After just a few months of heavy training with the promise of blood to be had, the Swampies were ready to rumble in the big leagues and immediately set out to join the SWL, arriving in time for Season XXIII the Swampies hoped to sup on the sweet coppery tastes of their foes in the battles to come... And after eight gruelling seasons in the SWL the Swampies have hung up the boots, nests numbers could not be sustained, and coach Barre has become a shadow of his former self, although secret talks of a new venture has piqued him up somewhat. 6 straight seasons in Conf. feels like an accomplishment, some more successful than others, but in the end I'm happy to have coached this great team. |
