It's not entirely clear how the gifted musicians known as Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes became a Blood Bowl team. One minute they were playing cantinas around Tatooine, the next minute they were lacing up their cleats to battle to the death.

There were rumors that the kloo horn master D'an had run up massive gambling debts, and there were rumors that Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure was displeased with his Blood Bowl team, a loose alliance of Tusken Raiders, Rodians and a couple Whiphids known as the Tatooine Dust Devils.

But all that we know for certain is this: the Dust Devils didn't make it to their scheduled game a few weeks back. In fact, they haven't been seen since. And in lieu of forfeiting, their spot in the league has been given to Modal Nodes FC, a team featuring D'an, his band, and a few other local musicians.

Surprisingly, they seem almost competent, given that the most experienced athlete among them is Doikk Na'ts, who played the Fizzz in the Northwest Dantooine High School band. But that's been in friendly games, against local teams consisting largely of Jawas. Once they start traveling the galaxy, they're playing with a significantly higher level of competition...

Modal Nodes FC is a Sith team -- Jabba has killed players he's been displeased with before, and he'll do it again.

Ahem, ALLEGEDLY killed before. (But he'll definitely do it again. That is a fact.)
