Sun Temple Chargers were formed after a skink priest had a vision of the old ones telling him to form a blood bowl team.

The skink priest, known as Squar Farenkyr, became the manager using funds from the Sun Temple itself. The Sun Temple's flock had been waning with the advent of the Slaan revisionist changes to religious doctrines and the feeling was that blood bowl may attract the younger Lizardmen back to their ancient ways.

"Im on a mission from the Old Ones" said Squar to the crowds gathered to witness their inauguration, "Im on a mission, from God..."

Fortunately for Squar, noone had specified that he needed to play, only that he need be involved. Thus Squar bravely made himself head coach of the team as the pious recruits began swll the ranks of his team, the Sun Temple Chargers.
