During the rule of Emperor Magnus the Pious (2304-2336), the foolish Humans of the Empire set the ruined, chaos infested city of Mordheim to the torch, attempting to cleanse it's foul taint with brimstone and fire. But while the surface was reduced to little more than ash, and most of the underground burrows were drowned in molten oil, a few holdouts remained.

Emerging from one of the few untouched underground sewers, the Skaven of one of the few surviving smaller clans of the city; Clan Fut-Boll claimed the doomed city for themselves, and built a mighty fortress upon it. For the next century and a half they guarded the city, wary of any attackers who seeked to steal the warstones that still remained, and hoping to kill and loot any who dared approach.

But after a few tenuous decades of skirmishes, no visitors ever came, and eventually scouts were sent to explore to find out why. Upon finding out the city was still deemed cursed by most civilized races, the Skaaven of Clan Fut-Boll came up with a new plan to get riches. They converted their mighty fortress to a Blood Bowl Arena, and formed a team, hoping to instead get rich off of ticket stubs.
