As the sun's first ray pierced the hot morning sky, T'eenihuan, the revered Skink shaman slit the throats of the thousandth foul rat-man. With a savage kick the nearly headless body toppled into the gaping pit in front of him. T'eenihuan allowed himself a small, savage smile, everything had been done according to the will of the Old Ones. His cold eyes flicked expectantly to the vast spawning pool set at the base of the great temple.

Nothing happened.

A dragonfly buzzed past T'eenihuan and he reached out mechanically and caught the giant insect. Plucking its wings and putting them into a pouch at his waist he stuffed the still wriggling insect down his throat. Still nothing stirred in the great spawning pool. How could this be happening, the shaman had done everything written on the temple's great gold tablets. Had he missed something? Had he misinterpreted the will of the Old Ones? T'eenihuan turned to look at the impassive squat form of the venerable slaan High Priest Cthuo'lou. The city's celebrated leader had been brought here to be present at the great event and T'eenihuan thought he could detect a vague tremor of annoyance pass across the serene, unmoving face of the priest. With a guttural roar that seemed to rip apart the very fabric of the air, the huge form of a kroxigor exploded from the surface of the sacred spawning pool. Licking fetid droplets of spawning pool off his face, T'eenihuan's reptilian face broke into a smile and the shaman sank to his knees. Praise be the Old Ones, the prophecy was true: he would lead his team to the old World to compete in their Blood Bowl league, they would destroy every team in their path, and the newly spawned Kroxigor would be a curse on their foes lips...
