The Goblin Snogga began life as a lowly snot collector among the Skull-Splittaz, a small Orc tribe in the southern Badlands. As dissatisfied as he was with his place in the tribe he still could not see any way to change his fortune. Small and scrawny even by Goblin standards Snogga seemed destined for a life of abuse and drudgery with the only bright spot being that it would most likely soon come to an end, albeit a violent and unpleasant one.

His life took a sudden change when a travelling Blood Bowl team, the Badlandz All-Starz, visited the tribe to challenge the local boyz to an exhibition game. Hiding under the shoddily erected bleachers Snogga was mesmerized by what he witnessed on the field. The wanton destruction and mayhem was on such a scale as he had never dreamed could exist in a single place and time. But it was not the heavily scarred and armored Orcs engaged in the struggle on the field that fascinated Snogga the most, he knew he could never be one of them. Instead it was the lone figure standing on the sideline that caught his attention. The old wizened Orc, missing an arm and most of the fingers on the other, shouted orders and gestured at the players while hurling some of the worst insults that Snogga had ever heard. But amazingly, and contrary to all of Snogga’s previous experience, the bigger Orcs did not rip off the old geezers remaining arm and beat him to death with it. Even more amazingly some of them actually seemed to listen to him and follow his instructions. Snogga was dumbstruck and could only watch in awe as the All-Starz administered a comprehensive thrashing of the Skull-Splittaz, but deep in the most cunning part of his devious Goblin mind a plan began to take shape.

The very next day Snogga began convincing his fellow snot collectors that forming their very own Blood Bowl team, with him as their coach, would be a very good idea. Since it does not take much to convince a snot collector to make a career change he soon had his first team, the Not Snots All-Starz. However, with no other team to play all they could to was to practice which, given that none of them even had the faintest idea of the rules, turned out to be a rather confused affair which mostly consisted of Snogga screaming at the top of his voice (he knew that was one of the important bits at least) while the rest of the Goblins sat around doing nothing. Snogga might have gotten things sorted eventually but unfortunately for him the Orcs of the tribe showed up wondering why all the snot was left uncollected. Before he could slink away, which was his natural inclination, Snogga found that every single one of his player had not hesitated a moment before pointing him out as the cause of this disruption of tribe order. Finding himself pinned to the ground by a large boot and seeing a ridiculously sharp Choppa raised above him Snogga seized on a desperate plan and cried out.

“Wait, I challenge you to a game!”

The Orc with the raised Choppa hesitated a moment, looking around to see if any of the others knew what the pitiful creature under its boot was babbling about, as far as he knew any challenge was generally over by the time the other greenskin was on the ground with a boot on his neck. Luckily for Snogga one of the other Orcs had caught his meaning and the Orcs, still smarting from the beating they had received by the other All-Starz and itching for any kind of revenge, soon agreed to the terms that Snogga proposed; whoever lost would be forced to collect all the tribe’s snot for all time. Since he was the only one of the Goblins who had watched a game, and he had not done a terribly good job of explaining what a game of Blood Bowl was actually like, Snogga was able to convince his players that this was a chance of a lifetime to finally rise above their lowly station and make something out of themselves. He also promised them that they would never have to collect a single more gob of snot for as long as they lived. This last bit turned out to be true as the entire Not Snots All-Starz roster was deceased before the crowd had finished their first squig burger. By that time however, the All-Starz’s coach was long gone since, after giving a rousing team talk to begin the game, Snogga had quietly slipped away from the field and then started running as fast and as far as his scrawny goblin legs could carry him.

Undeterred by the demise of his former team Snogga did not give up on his dream of becoming a Blood Bowl coach though he made the decision that his next team would consist of Orcs rather than Goblins. For the next several months he traveled the Badlands in search for Orcs crazy, desperate or stupid enough to play for a Goblin coach.

Initially he had little success, unless you consider the fact that he was not killed by an angry Orc insulted by being asked to take orders from a Goblin (which is no mean feat in itself). However, that all changed when he met Grukk and Gruul. Black Orcs blessed with unusual size and ferociousness, and very little else, they would have made perfect Blood Bowl players were it not for the fact that they were constantly at each other throats. Having been born on the same day they were equally matched in all things and as a result a clear winner had never emerged between them even after all of their years of fighting. Having the dominant brother decided once and for all was the only thing that could have ended their rivalry for despite all of their animosity towards each other they refused to be separated.

Seeing an opportunity Snogga got both brothers drunk on fermented ale mixed with dried worm root which caused them to black out for a full day. When they finally awoke Snogga told them each separately that they had soundly beaten and put the other in his place. Surprisingly this ruse worked as both Grukk and Gruul were happy with being the one nominally in charge though Snogga seemed to be the one actually making the decisions. Predictably it did not last however, despite Snoggas careful handling of the belligerent brothers they were soon at each other throats once again, at which point Snogga simply fetch more dried worm root and repeated the process. Even with such thick skulls as those belonging to the hulking Black Orc brothers it is surely only a matter of time before they grow suspicious and put two and two together, with unhappy and most likely fatal consequences for Snogga, but so far it has worked. Freed from their constant fighting with each other the brothers have, under Snoggas guidance, turned their attention towards forming a Blood Bowl team.

With Grukk and Gruul as his team captains/enforcers Snogga was able to round up a motley bunch of Orcs with varying degree of aptitude for the sport, a result of taking anyone he could get, though he steadfastly refused to accept any Goblins into the team. With ten players on the team Snogga was desperately looking for the final Orc to complete his team but word of the persuasive Black Orc brothers had spread and Orcs were careful to keep their distance to avoid being drafted. Snogga was even considering having to take to the field himself just to make up the numbers when unexpectedly a volunteer, and Orc named Sahgorim, appeared and asked for a tryout.

Despite showing the potential of being one of the better players on the team Sahgorim’s unwillingness to actually tackle anyone and his insistence on throwing the ball whenever he picked it up, something that made no sense to any of the other Orcs, made him rather unpopular with his teammates. The habit of calling himself da Chozen as well as talking about himself in third person did not earn him any favors either. But Snogga needed an 11th player and so allowed Sahgorim to join the team and with that the Bloody Bootz Boyz were born.
