Hailing from the halls of Karak Zufbar, Bardin Ironoak, a master dwarfen ranger, set out with a party of two dozen rangers on an expedition to find what might lie past the Great Skull Land. A small group of slayers adventuring near Zufbar, led by Alkarix Kinslayer, decided to join Bardin. The rangers made it past wastelands of orcs until finally reaching the Mountains of Mourn. The rangers stumbled upon a strange grove of seemingly dead and petrified trees in the barren mountains, and they were full of a precious looking gem, amber. Bardin set up camp here and they began harvesting the gemstone. While camped here, a regiment of a dwarven army, twisted by chaos and magic, driving greenskin slaves ahead of them, came upon their camp and declared the rangers were tresspassing and stealing their Lord's gems. They sent their greenskin slaves to kill the dwarves, but Bardin and his rangers, with the help of the slayers, slew every greenskin that came just as they had done back home. Impressed, the general of this chaos dwarf regiment decided they may be an apt opponent for his newly learned sport, Blood Bowl. The general came forth to Bardin with 11 of his most elite guard and challenged him and 11 of his best rangers to a match. Bardin had seen the game back in Zufbar, and agreed to the challenge. Selecting 9 of his best rangers as well as Alkarix and his best slayer, Bardin set foot onto the makeshift pitch the greenskin slaves had thrown together. A large chunk of amber was used for a ball, and a brutal match was played. It was a long and arduous fight, and the score remained tied until the final moments of the match when a raging Bull Centaur charged for the end zone with only Bardin standing in the way. The Master Ranger held his ground against the trampling onslaught, and he brought the beast down. To the rangers' dismay, Bardin was also brought down in the death throws of the centaur with a hoof to his spine. His fastest ranger, Ragnar, without a word, carried out Bardin's final wishes and took the ball from the grip of the slain abomination. Rushing through mutated dwarf and greenskin slave alike, Ragnar stepped into the endzone with seconds to spare, winning them the match. The chaos dwarf regiment retreated back to their ziggurat. With Bardin fatally wounded and dying, he promoted Ragnar to master ranger, and gave him command of the new blood bowl team. Bardin's final command being to conquer this new land by bringing the skill of dwarfs to the pitch. With that, the Mourn Mountain Rangers were born. They had no stadium, as they set up pitch wherever they camped. They took the colors of rangers into their uniform and imbued the new amber gemstones into their armor. The Rangers traveled all across the Mountains of Mourn, facing greenskin, ogre, and chaos dwarf team alike. Finally, Ragnar calls for the expedition to head home to tell about their journey and bring their new blood bowl team to the home pitch...it will be a long journey home however, full of adventure and brutal Blood Bowl. |
