Disgusted by the thought of how their kinfolk were being recycled into leather straps for Blood Bowl armour, the escaped Beastmen soon formed their own team, each one naming himself after his favourite meal from Lindaargh McCaaarghtney's range of wholesome vegan food. Quickly recruiting a posse of celebrity vegan enthusiasts to their banner of plant protein, the Prominent Vegans have been beefing up and preparing for an onslaught on the world.

After a lacklustre start, the Vegans commissioned MenonaLoco for team strategy and player training. The team owners, Meatless Jim, and his chum Ribbed Tickler, had been arguing for months with head coach MrCushtie about how the Vegans had been "playing like goblins but with less flair" and demanded an improvement from the 33% win rate from their first three games.
