The Volcanic Island of Stromlo is home to some of the most ignorant and vicious people of the known Southern Seas.

The Stromlo are a brutal people who have grown prosperous by taxing surrounding islands. In return the Stromlo provide 'leadership and protection'.

With their economy almost entirely dependant on taxation of the surrounding isles, the warrior chieftains of the Stromlo (although they may crow otherwise) know little about efficient resource allocation. The operation of the economy is left to slaves. When things go well Stromlo's squabling Council of Chieftans (CoC) takes credit. If something goes wrong one of the slaves gets the axe. However, the CoC always takes personal responsibility for the haphazard allocation of treasure and slaves plundered from neighbouring isles.

In the past, when the CoC could not agree (which was most of the time) matters were settled by single combat. To the victor went the wealth... and the corpse of their challenger (for sacrifice to their moiety's patron god). However, since the introduction of blood bowl to the island, trial by blood bowl has become a more popular method.

With so many disagreements to decide the Stromlo have become quite passable at the game (even if they are in fact no good at passing).
