In the Old World, lucha is becoming considerably less a realistic career choice. Namely the big Naggarothi raiders have been travelling around and "acquiring" the most promising talent to perform for their own twisted entertainment. For a substantial amount of time they were content with just having a subdivision in Albion using Norscan raiders and local talent and their natural propensity for a good scrap to fill out their roster. As with most things when slaves and money come in, that wasn't enough to fill their coffers, or their bloodlust for that matter.

It wouldn't be too long before they started creeping into the Northern reaches of Bretonnia, The Empire and right across to Kislev. The shores of Estalia would rapidly be on their list and so the Estalians took the bold claim of making it absolutely clear they don't have any competent athletes and despite the Dark Elves calling their national sport "The Graps" the Estalians emphasised "no we have not heard of lucha, there is no such thing as lucha so you won't find any fine practitioners of lucha here, no siree Mr Scary Elf Man". Whether they ever got hold of a translator or not they were highly suspicious of this "lucha" and decided they would head to Estalia for more talent for their pits regardless.

With their industry being decimated it was left to the finest Luchadores in Estalia to spend some time trying to go undercover in a different sport. Working their way through the lower reaches of the Estalian leagues the performances were always substandard but they were able to at least provide a high level of entertainment for their fans. Eventually this meant that when CIBBL came calling they couldn't resist accepting the promotion well beyond their abilities. Whether their "Técnicos" would be able to do the job or they'd need to take a more "rudo" philosophy they don't care. They're so bad at this "Tirame la Pelota!" game it doesn't really matter regardless.

After a less than stellar start to their careers, ownership changed hands with them no longer being a billionaires plaything, they were purchased by a mysterious goblin who decided that their method of entertaining the fans was not suitable for a successful Blood Bowl team. Trying to encourage them to try new things and embracing the dark side of the pitch there has been a change to the teams fortunes. How long it'll last, and if the new talent and styles can improve their fortunes longer term only time will tell.
