This team were minted in the scandalous debacle known as “Colgate”, when the deranged necromancer Professor “Dave” Listerine attempted to create servants who didn’t stink of rotting flesh.

Dave tried to imbue his undead retainers with the fragrance of spearmint by embalming corpses in minty mouthwash prior to reanimating them. It was a success – until it rained and they were no longer a breath of fresh air. The disappoint-mint hit Dave hard, but not as hard as the foul stench of his creations.

Choking back his dismay and swallowing his pride, Dave looked for a way to recoup his losses. He came across a vat still filled with minty corpse-flavoured juice and a desperate plan emerged. Taking his lead from Gwyneth Paltroll, famed Trollish purveyor of dubious health products, he filled bottles with the substance and began marketing it as an “organic mouthwash with added natural ingredients” (quite literally, as loose hair, nails, and teeth are often found floating in bottles of the stuff). Surprisingly there was huge uptake for this bizarre product from mindless zombies in the undead community.

Dave sensed further promotion and marketing opportunities and formed his minions into a Blood Bowl team for the sole purpose of sponsoring them for commercial visibility. The less than fragrant hulks and their brainless antics and clumsy bumbling swiftly gained infamy.

The team are often referred to as “The Minties” by their few fans, who find it difficult to think in, let alone grunt, more than two syllables. The Minties try their best (which is still an utter shambles) to recreate that “oh so fresh” (and unfamiliar) taste of victory on the grid iron.
