The Crimson Crow begun it's story as a merchant ship known as the Ivory Crow. They carried exotic goods across the Great Ocean, navigating the many pirates and monsters that hunt there.
One journey, the crew of the Crow were tasked with transporting an elegant coffin by the request of a hooded man who claimed to be the coffin's guardian. While the crew was suspicious, they couldn't say no to the pay they were promised.
And then, one night the hooded man opened the coffin and awoke his master, a vampire who's name has been lost to time. What followed was a bloodbath of frenzied feeding, staining the decks of the ship a deep red. The vampire then rose the crew as his undead servants, and begun a life of piracy.

But even the most action packed life can get boring if it's eternal. One day, when the captain was reading through the old letters of his crew, he saw mention of a game called "Blood Bowl", with a few of the rules explained. On that very night, he organised his crew into two teams, using a cannonball as a ball. The first few games were nothing more than a slightly organised fight, with whatever team the captain was on winning since no crew member was brave, or stupid, enough to hit him back, however they soon docked at port and hunted for other teams to play against.
Playing against other teams, the captain soon realised that they needed a strategy, other than his preferred "kill everything" playstyle, if they wanted to win. He tasked every member of his ship with a role in the team, including making the hooded man, the necromancer Wilhelm the Saviour, the head coach.

The Crow's first season was a disaster. They finished second last, with no wins to their name. Embarrassed and disappointed, Harry led the crew on a training journey, hoping that one day the team would be good enough to make a name for themselves.

During the Winter season, the Crows achieved their first victory, putting them on the map for all of the best* sponsors. Their first? Nadja's Red Rum, "The finest 'Rum' in all of the Vampire Coast".

The spring season was business as usual for the crew, except for their new recruit. As an ex star player**, the captain hoped he would retain enough knowledge to improve the team.

*Basically criminals (and not the good kind) but any sponsor is better than none.
