Did you know?
... that coach and quarterback Sean Sanders senior found to his old form and leading qualities after only three games? While still a little bit inhibited in his fist game he was responsible for three completions per game in the following three matches.
Did you know?
... that there is an investigation ongoing regarding prohibited sports betting on amateur Blood Bowl games after the Blodger siblings showed up with golden knuckle-dusters and expensive jewelry following the latest winning streak of the ProElves.
Did you know?
...that there was a man called Albertius Bandie who scored four touchdowns in one game! ... but Hazel and Brian compete against each other to score five TDs in a single match.
Team History
One rainy day in late summer, former Blood Bowl star-quarterback Sean Sanders sat in a provincial stadium of Ulthuan and was nauseated by the poor performance on the pitch. All those rich brads were not able or not willing to play proper Blood Bowl without ruining their silk costumes or their skillfully arranged hairstyles. Without their money or the influence of their noble families these snobs would never be allowed to desecrate the holy temples of Nuffle. It was at exactly that moment when he decided to form his own amateur team and try his luck as team captain and coach.
Calling some of his former team-mates he quickly got some hints and signed contracts with the infamous Blodgers siblings. Brian and his sister Bernadette who earned their fortune in Athel Loren with street bowl or 7s games, mainly by betting on their own wins. Rumors said that both ot them got contracts with professional Wood Elf teams before but left these teams after short periods again because nobody wanted to allow Bernadette to train for a Wardancer position while Brian was – at least in the eyes of their former coaches – too brawny to be a proper Catcher.
Another influx to the team came from Saint Albanie's College for girls who got a Blood Bowl team but was traditionally not allowed to participate in the regional league. Heather, Wanda, Shannon, Daphne and Christine were glad to join the team and finally get the chance to pit their strength against the other teams of the province. The college itself was open to all Elven Kingdoms and raised orphans from Naggaroth, Athel Loren and Ulthuan.
The remaining four players of the starting squad were hired from other elven teams that would no longer allow players of lesser nobility or who just asked too much to buy into the team.
It was during season one that coach Sanders senior decided to step onto the pitch once again and support the team as quarterback. Fortunately, the whole season was protected by a lucky star and none of the key players were seriously injured during the first eleven matches. But unfortunately, Daphne Dauntless suffered a smashed knee against the Bardin’ Dwardins and left the squad just before the end of the season. Scouting for a replacement, coach Sanders quickly found Hazel, Heathers sister who stood out at the try outs because of her swift feet and could Blood in the thick of it. Even though Heather was not pleased at all to see her little sister on a Blood Bowl pitch, she eventually agreed to mentor her.
Then, after winning the ‘No Kneecaps Series’ Graduation league with an impressive 7/1/0 record the ProElves were - as a tribute to the major contribution of all the girls from St. Albanie's College - renamed to 'St. Albanie's Sparrows'.
But coach Sanders, who retired from his role in the pitch to concentrate on coaching, was not yet satisfied with the win of the league and as a preparation for the upcoming Graduate Cup the Sparrows left to a Training camp in Sylvania.
Unfortunately the cup already ended in round one for the Sparrows because the lost against an OWA team lead by starplayer Ivar Eriksson. Disappointed the Sparrows left their former home stadium and head for new shores in the Secret League.

Training Camp in Sylvania for the upcoming Graduation Cup
I know we have had a poor start to the season. Two losses and two draws. Those are not the results we were all working for. Belive me, I am as disapointed as you are. But also belive me this: It was an honor to stand next to you on the gridiron today and I know there are better times to come. This team is young. We did only train together for three weeks before we started the season. Give us some time, some more training, some more games together and we will advance and become successful.
Now go to the ice bath, get your wounds treated and get some distraction. We will start training the day after tomorrow. See you there. Heads up, we will come back stronger!

after Game 7 (2nd match @ Team Nessheim)
I am not quite sure if I should thank you for attending todays conference. Today you come as fans and want to celebrate with us, but only three weeks ago you circled above our heads like vultures around a carrion.
We all know it was a bumpy start to the season. And I want to thank all those who believed in us for their trust. Only because of them we were able to continue our work. The four game winning streak proved us right.
And without loosing many more words I want to promise we will not reduce our efforts. We are second to the Norse with some promissing teams on our heels as well. The season is not done yet. We still can make it to the top and we need to fight back any chasers.

after Game 8 (1st match @ Leaping Dryads I)
Our start to this season seemed to prove all those right who did not allow Saint Albanie's league participation in the last decades. Human, Vampires and Elves alike, they all thought Blood Bowl should not be played by a female-only team.
But we will prove the opposite. Yes, we are not 100% girls. But everybody knows how much of the team's success ist related to us. We did not yet win against only two of the six teams which formed the former league division. And this is only a matter of time. You hear me? We are here waiting for you. Let's see if you still judge Saint Albanie's girls wrong after our match!

after Game 9 (2nd match @ Leaping Dryads I)
Ashes - The last match day in the 'No Kneecaps Graduation Series' leaves fans of fancy elven Blood Bowl behind with two hearts in their chest. While the ‘ProElves’ finally managed to rise like phoenix from the ashes after a spoiled start to the season the ‘Leaping Dryads I’ paid tribute to the suffered injuries of the past weeks. Even if they were finally able to field both of their Wardancers, a major part of the team needed to be replaced by journeymen. And it was only after turn three – Terurtob Pearl just got badly hurt by Liam Liners – that the coach conceded. Not believing that a single particularly low armored Wardancer could win the game. Later this night ‘Leaping Dryads I’ sports director announced that the team will also resign from the league. So, it is ashes to ashes in Athel Loren while ‘ProElves’ rises from the ashes to chase ‘Piggy Porkers Graduation’ for the win of this season.

after Game 10 (2nd match @ 'We'are all that')
PELF! PELF! PELF! We finally got there mates! Six consecutive wins. Nobody saw us coming, but finally we reached the top.
And even better: We only need to win two more games versus our beloved friends from the graves and the north to prove them wrong once and forever. Only two more games to fulfill Heather's oath and make this the perfect season.

after Game 11 (1st match @ ‘Flakeland Blizzards’)
Please, calm down a bit and come a little closer. I know you are euphoric. Leading the ladder. Seven consecutive wins… All that may make you feel like super-elves. Unstoppable… But I want you to remember: It’s only over, when it’s over. The season is still on full throttle. There are other teams out there, playing games and winning matches… You do not want to wake up at the end of the day and find out you started your party too early and one of the other teams took your place at the last minute.
We still have one shot. One shot to make it a remarkable sprint with eight wins from eight games. Only if we focus on that last game, give our very best and put our whole hart into it, we could face even a lost season without shame… So, I want you all to focus! Who knows what sacred Nuffle will throw at us for this last game. But no matter what it is, I want you to be prepared.
Now go for the shower. Today in the afternoon I want to see all of you focused and wholehearted at the training pitch again.
(source: Coach Sanders after the morning training)
after Game 12 (1st match @ ‘Bardin' Dwardins’)
Well done boys and excellent job ladies! This was no easy match. Dwarves, those digging, jealous little stumps. I knew Nuffle would bring up another test for us. And it was a hard first half with the early injuries of Liam and Daphne. Nevertheless, we did well. Their cage rolled down the pitch and we missed an easy opening to them twice, but in the end only a desperate leap could save them a score. I really hope they build statues and sing songs for Ringo ‘Elvenfoot’ after this score.
The second half was exactly what I was asking for from all of you: Commitment! We did not run from them but stood our ground. And in Christines case we stood on Dwarves. Those extra hits to those on the ground really made life much easier. Seven fouls resulting in two dead and two badly hurt dwarves that is result oriented game play. But who could be mad at Christine to start putting her boots in after she saw Daphne’s smashed knee and Liam’s wounds. I think it will make both happy if I tell them – later when I will visit them at the healer’s palace – that their tormentors have been punished by Christine.
Unfortunately, we could not win this game to achieve a ‘perfect sprint’ but seven wins and one draw is a remarkable result for such a fresh team. Even if Heather could not fulfill her oath in the end because Bite Night and Piggy Porkers did not show up to the revenge games, you proved yourself more than worthy. You, we all can be proud, and we will celebrate this last draw like it was another win… but only after our injured friends are back.
In the meantime, I am happy to introduce two new players: Lilliane will support us at the line of scrimmage, while Hazel will try to follow her sister’s footsteps and learn the art of the ball-hawk.
And one last word to all those who wondered about my extra trainings in the last weeks. I was trying to improve my passing skills, to be as precise as I was in recent years, but it seems all those training sessions did not improve my ability to swing the arm while passing, but be more efficient while running…

after Game 17 (1st match @ ‘Team Hades’)
Hello and welcome to lovely Sylvania for our update on the team's development during our training camp.
We had some hard-fought matches against the team of our hosts the 'Team Nessheim' as well as one match against the undead of 'Team Hades' with their star player Ivan 'the animal' Deathshroud. Unfortunately, we were not able to win all those matches. Especially because we are still struggling to use our hard-earned skills close to their hypnotic eyes. But that only let us double our efforts! There are more matches planned and I am sure we will find a way to be as successful against those unholy vampires again as we were during the official league sprint.
Furthermore, I want to use this opportunity to inform you about some changes in our team’s setup. During our matches here we determined the inevitable necessity of a coach at the sideline. Therefore, I will resign from my position as a playing coach with immediate effect and take over the position as head coach while my son Sean Sanders junior will take over the role of our quarterback. I guess you will not have any problems to recall his name.
After our training camp Hazel Hawk will also retire from the team and become my second hand. She will take over the position of our offensive coordinator and go on mentoring her sister Hazel. Lucas Liners on the other side will be our defensive coordinator and will contribute with his experience at the line of scrimmage. I want to thank both for their commitment to the team. They played a major part in our success so far and I believe the team will benefit from in the future as well from the impact they can make in their new roles.
Finally, I want to announce that with Heather’s retirement we dissolve her initial oath, but we will keep her heritage and store all aspired goals for individual players or the whole team in a locker shelve called ‘Hawk’s oath’.
And before you ask, we are all still waiting for the final results of the season, but we dare to hope. There are only few teams who can beat our 7/1/0 record and there are only ten days left. Nevertheless, we will only celebrate the successes we really achieve! So, we see you on Dia de los Muertos.

Hawk's oath
Heather Hawk (former Linebacker and now offensive coordinator) swore an oath to prove the supremacy of the professional 'gender neutral' approach to Blood Bowl by beating each of the teams that denied her and her sisters from Saint Albanie's the honor to participate at official league games.
Unfortunately she was not able to fulfill that oath in the end. But as a heritage coach Sanders decided to place the goals and achievements for the team and individual players in this section.
