Hailing from the far-eastern shores of Nippon, the Dragons are a group, hand-picked from the Emperor's Guard by Akira Yojimbo, a great scholar who has studied the ways of Blood Bowl for many years.
Yojimbo was sent by the Emperor's Aide many years ago to better understand the role this ritualistic game plays in the lives of Westerners. It soon became clear to Akira the importance of the game. The ritual of this bloodsport served twofold, for the entertainment and pacification of the populace, and more importantly, the selection of valorous warriors for combat.
As time passed, Yojimbo wrote to the Imperial Council, urging them see this ritual with their own eyes, and to seriously consider employing this ritual as part of military training back in Nippon.
Word spread in Nippon's political circles, and Yojimbo was to come into the possession (at great cost) of several special tickets, to the Blood Bowl Final between the Elfheim Eagles and the Riekland Reavers.
A great Imperial Envoy was sent from Nippon, including the Emperor himself to witness the historic event. It was indeed only the third time an Emperor from Nippon was to set foot in the West.
His holiness was so impressed by the ordeal, that he ordered training to begin at once for a representative team of Nippon, and charged Akira with the role of Head Instructor of the Nippon Dragons.
The Dragons are under Imperial orders to fly the Nippon flag high into the sky with their performances on-field. Failure will not be tolerated.
