| When Snow White was out and about looking for a band of dwarves to be in her movie, she came across a rural clan struggling to mine gold with spoons. Even though they weren't the best stock in all of Dwarfdom, time was short so she selected seven of them to help her out of a bind... The guys that didn't make the cut sulked their way deep into the mountains. At least without that crack pot Doc running things they wouldn't have to use spoons anymore; that is, once they could afford a decent pick or three. Then one day, Surly came to the realization of how soft they had become and how they were all dead broke because they never got any money mining with spoons. All this made him really angry and since he was broke he didn't have money for ale; he needed a job that paid and someone to punch or kick or, better yet, punch and kick. He ranted and raved all around their camp and the others agreed. That is when Gimpy, the oldest of the lot, recalled a time when great games of sport were played and there was lots of ale and lots of punching (and kicking) and even a lass or two at the pubs after a match. Well, that was all it took to get that lot all up in arms. Determined, they set out for the nearest city to fill out their papers. Out from the mountains and tougher than an oyster in a shell. |
