Hailing from the cold, rugged Dwarven city of Karak Norn, the Anvils are a team founded by the Blacksmith's Guild. Initially starting as a pastime for smiths with little work to do during mining strikes, or times of peace (both rather rare), the team has grown into a semi-professional outfit, and has recently had some rather promising results in lower divisions. Most of the players are smiths themselves, sons of smithies or are associated with the Guild in some way, that have decided to give the great game a shot. Many traditionalist smithies are growing concerned with the growing amount of time spent by some away from their forges, and at North Norn Stadium, colourfully nicknamed, "The Furnace". They draw a decent crowd of Guildsmen, wives, daughters and young Karak Norn folk, and with their current crop of players, are rising amongst the ranks of Blood Bowl teams. |
