The Vingheim Vikings were formed when a Norse raiding ship was run aground far from home. The crew seing no way home, and being too lazy to walk, decided to settle in the locality. Soon when it becam apparent that they had no beer and that no woman would go near a poor sailor, the crew held their first and only meeting that did not degenerate into a mass brawl. The decision was made by the crew to form a Blood Bowl team and compete for money, then they need never be short of beer or women again, plus the opportunity to participate in violent and lethal sport whilst earning this money made it a clincher. Named after their home village in Norsca, the Vingheim Vikings were born. The man who was responsible for the ship being run aground was , in true Norse style, nicknamed Norman the Great as a constant reminder of his ineptitude, further more he was ordered to play at the back of the team as the thrower (a great dishonour to a Norseman as they feel that the position on the front row where the most fighting occurs is a valiant and desirable one) The Vingheim Vikings are a young team and found their feet in the Academy during their first six matches, before transfering themselves to the Unranked Division.
