The term "League" as explained by Arktoris on 2007-02-27: I very happy with the new name for Unranked; I've always considered it the Tournament division and Ranked was Open division, as those two terms best described them. I think the name "Unranked" turned off a lot of coaches since it seemed a demotion for your teams to play there...even though it wasn't. I think the division will get more respect with its more accurate term. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goal: Trying to develop a team of purely ogres! 9-15-06: The first game had 5 ogres. Of course, our first loss. We fought well though! 9-15-06: The first "win" without throwing a block! The coach's wife was furious and forced him to concede right after the opening kick-off. The team gained another ogre, so the team is up to 6 ogres. 9-15-06: Damn! The skinks are fast! Lost 3-0, but team gained another ogre. The team now has 7 ogres, but it still has zero re-rolls. 9-17-06: We di not lose! We earned a tie against flings, 1-1. Wendell Wartlicker scores the team's first touchdown! The team is up to 8 ogres now. 9-18-06: VICTORY! The first real win is a 3-0 drubbing of a Norse team which fielded 9 players. It seemed everything went our way. Our first win! 9-18-06: The victory party lasted too long into the night, and the team was just to "pissed up" to perform. They couldn't get even one casualty against lowly hobgoblins! The team is now up to 9 ogres. 9-18-06: Our second victory comes and the "hands" of the Troll King. Troll King was inspired by the ogres scoring a TD that he wanted to score one for himself. During the second half of the game, he tried constantly to reach the endzone. Luckily for the ogres, he just could not make it. The team is up to 10 ogres now. 9-18-06: A tie, 0-0. Only two exciting things happened: 1) The apoth raised a RIP during the game. 2) Sara Stumpgrinder became a "Quint" in just her first five games! Ironically, she was also the first ogre to roll a "bonus" skill for the team. She earned herself +1 Movement on a roll of 6+4. 9-18-06: I said it once and I will say it again, "Damn! Those skinks are fast!" We lose 3-0. 9-18-06: What a crock of sh*t! Triple skulls doesn't allow for even an attempt to tie the score on T8 of second half . We end up losing, 2-1, to the rats while standing three spaces from the end zone. Our first bbrc special. It was a fantastic game shot to hell by the dice! The team is up to a full roster of 11 ogres. Now we can focus on gaining re-rolls. 9-19-06: We win, 1-0, thanks to ghouls not being able to pick up the ball or make a dodge. Nuffle was hitting them hard with the one-one curses! 9-20-06: Again, the victory celebration from the night before dooms the team. The rats ran all over us, 5-0. The only highlight was that we killed their rat ogre by fouling him repeatedly. By the third attempt, his armor gave way and his heart exploded. 9-20-06: A tie, 0-0, against the orcs. Only two exciting things happened: 1) The apoth raised a RIP after the first block of the game. Thankfully, no more serious injuries occured after that! 2) The team raised enough money to purchase thir first re-roll. What do you think? Is this a great or fugly bb game? 9-21-06: The team's first BBRC Special! You just have to see it to believe it! We lose to the orcs, 1-0. 9-26-06: A 1-1 tie against the horns of Chaos. The team lost a sure score, and the possible victory, on a "bonehead" play on T8 of the first half. 9-30-06: In what was to be an exciting match-up of Ogre vs Ogre was nothing more than a big let down. Nuffle pounds our arse! The BBRC was extremely happy when many scoring opportunities were wasted in the first half due to ones. The team doctor did not pack a sufficient supply of Preparation H to stop all of the rectal bleeding. Double Skulls gave a gobbo a score in the second half. Pure Ogres lose 1-0. A Classic BBRC Special! 10-1-06: Another predictable loss at the hands of Nuffle. This time, 2-0, to a team of Rotters. The team lost a sure score on a "bonehead" play on T8 of the first half. Instead of making it 1-1 at the half, it was 1-0. The Ogres fail to pick up the ball, and the Rotters get an easy score when a beastman is pushed around instead of pow'd (4 dice and all pushes) making the score 2-0. Coach Spleenmasher can only curse the BBRC and shout, "Once again, BB is getting boring and predictable!" 12-2-06: 11 unskilled ogres versus a team of skilled ogres and gobbos means a predictable loss, 3-1. |
