| The <i>UFFS Winterlance</i> flies into battle against the Rationalists alongside the rest of the United Faith Forces' space-fleet. Their shields are ordered, their arms ready - they are prepared. But the Rationalist fire-power is far beyond that which is expected, and the United Faith Forces fleet is torn apart. The <i>Winterlance</i> is thrown into a vortex, put through the wringer of space and time. Two <i>Winterlances</i> emerge, neither anywhere near, or in a place anywhere like the one they left. One floats above the world of Candar, where they will land in the icy mountains called the Roof of the World to settle the first female fighting force, the beginnings of what will be the Westwind Guard and the Legend that will ensure a matriarchy throughout western Candar for generations to come. One floats above a world filled with goblins, orcs and other creatures. There the ocupants of the <i>Winterlance</i> find that battle is scarce - the fight has been taken elsewhere. It is on the pitch that the wars are now fought. The Black Angels, without ship, without transport, must make their way in this new world.
