The "Blue Olly" (as the establishment is commonly called by locals) takes its' name from the chipped and battered fifteen-foot tall ceramic statue that stands outside the Ship Street door. The proprietor of the Olyphont, Murghan Strom, bought the statue off a down-on-his-luck seacaptain who had just returned from a trip to the far southern port of Shiertalar. "Olly" has since recieved quite a bruising in its' new home, especially from knife-wielding drunks and local bravos (who took such delight in using the statue for throwing practice or as a place to carve their names and boastings that Murghan was soon forced to hire a local tough to sit outside the tavern door, cudgel in hand, to discourage such acts of vandalism). The recent invasion of creatures from the depths of the Trackless Sea saw further damage to Olly, as one of its' massive tusks was broken off and used by a visiting Uthgardt barbarian to clear the taproom of sahuagin raiders. The barbarian, Rundegar, has taken to carrying the tusk as a sign of his prowess as a warrior, so much so that he has gained the nickname of "Bluefang." Murghan would like the tusk back, but can't see any way to relieve the hulking warrior of his "totem" without an excessive amount of bloodshed and property damage.

Having heard whispers of the upcoming Waterdeep Challenge Murgham has recruited a team of his patrons (with the promise of free ale) in the hopes of facing of against Rundegar and getting the opportunity to retrieve his prized Tusk.
