Steve and all of his friends have died, but it hasn't stopped them playing blood bowl. Some would even say they're better dead than they ever were alive. SWL Commisioner Twahn's Regional XXVII: 4th A mediocre start followed by a strong finish, as they won their last three games in a row - including some impressive leads - to finish 4th overall with a respectable 4-0-3 result. They finish the season with a strong and fairly balanced line-up, with a few promising players on the rise. They currently await the news of whether they will rise to conference or get a relaxing season in regionals to build themselves up. SWL Commisioner Twahn's Regional XXVIII: Having stayed in regionals, the team was given an easy season. They made the most of it, winning with a solid 6-1-0 result. They faced an unusual number of soft teams, and won most games with strong hits clearing the pitch of most of the opposition. Steve himself has developped into an unstoppable force. Vanna has developped quite a bit of skill, while still being willing to share the glory around rather than focus on personal acheivements. They finish the season with a full roster, few injuries, good cash reserves and just nicely below the salary cap of conference. Their coach, Irgy, just hopes they haven't gone too soft and overconfident from these games, as some horrible ball handling mistakes through the season have suggested. SWL Gone's Slipper Conference League XXIX: The season started badly with two losses, the first a costly revenge from mach3 where we lost Kjetil and our emerging star wolf Vanna. This set the team back quite a bit in development. After a couple of wins they still had a chance at a second place entry to premier, but that ended with a close loss to Primetime Rebirth. They finished the season in third place (tied with second on points) after another respectable 4-0-3 result. The team will start next season well balanced and well trained, and are looking forward to earning a good result. SWL Gone's Slipper Conference League XXX: No losses, no draws, but not enough wins either. Hardly any of the opponents even showed up to the game. A 4-0-0 result puts us on a perfect 35 points and on our way to the big league. Having only played four games however, and having also lost two strong players in Davies and Maria along the way (as well as one of the few skilled zombies Loki), we find ourselves somewhat underprepared for premier. The players look forward to giving it a shot nonetheless. SWL Premier League XXXI: 6th The team's first shot at premier, and it was the season of draws. Of the team's current 20-6-11 overall record, five of those draws come from this season's 0-5-2 result. Most of the draws, and even the loss to WDDR, felt like they should have been wins. Even the 3-0 loss was mostly the result of backfiring risky plays made trying to catch up. So overall, it was bad for the scoreboard, but good for morale as the team knows they can put up a fight with the best. Steve and Rob are proving a solid backbone for the team, and Cameron is fast becoming an absolute menace. Mike choked quite a lot this season, but he survived and will hopefully be better prepared mentally for the next shot. So, it's back to conference to hopefully build up again, maybe this time with enough unforfeited matches to save some cash. The unskilled zombie 'dead weight' has been cut to fit within the conference salary caps, the team just needs a good second wolf and second wight, and the current contenders Bundy and Andrew S look promising. Replacemnt's Spelling Bee Conference League XXXII: Another 4-0-3 result, and once again a recovery after a bad start. Taken to the extreme this time as we lost literally the first three, and won the rest. It started with a horrible game in which an initial 11-9 numbers advantage turned into losing both the game and our two most expensive and highly skilled players Rob and Cameron. It also left us short of players for the next game against Khemri. Fortunately, we made it through that game and the rest of the season unscathed, only losing Mike through aging. The three losses left us worried about relegation, but in the end some hard work from the players left us in grave danger of going up instead. In hindsight, retiring zombies to fit the TR cap isn't such a good idea, particularly when you have two bashy teams in the first two games, as it just left the positionals I held onto exposed to be retired for me. Fortunately Steve has survived (and is safe from aging for a while yet), Andrew S is showing himself to be a useful and versatile team member, and the new players are developing nicely - including 12spp from two games for the promising new flesh golem Henry. Snakefield Memorial Conference League XXXIII: 4-0-3 and third place is starting to look like this team's theme. Our hopes for a dominant season were dashed in the first game when we lost a close game against the season's eventual undefeated winners. Things picked up after that, until an expensive win against Skye Krushars in which both our wolves were murdered by the crowd, putting the team into a slump that continues into next season as poor winnings hampers our efforts to replace them. Snakefield Memorial Conference League XXXIV: 5th A 3-0-4 result, our worst so far outside of the premier debacle. Started the season still suffering from the lack of wolves, and couldn't seem to put it together, losing the first three. Mid season, with the wolves back, we suddenly found ourselves steamrolling some supposedly bashier teams, and were looking on track for our usual 4-0-3, which this time would have been enough for second place and an outside shot at premier. However old age had taken its toll on Henry and Ned, and a virus then saw both of them and Erik miss their last game before retirement, turning what should have been a 50TS advantage crunching into what finished up a hard fought loss. We at least start the next season in reasonable shape, hopefully it will be the one where we finally get our act together. Manfred's Funeral Gala Conference League XXXV: 8th Their worst season yet. Another season full of draws, this time 0-4-3 for last place. No real excuse for it, the team just seems to have lost their spirit. Two fairly hopeless losses started the season in bad spirits, and a string of draws prevented any enthusiasm from re-emerging. Hopes were high going into the last game for a win to put us back up into fifth, but the dwarves rolled right over us like never before, right from the start. A bit of time in the regionals will probably do them some good. Some key players have been retired to make the cull, including the uninjured Andrew S, and the injured star kicker zombie David Mc. Stinkers Regional XXXVI: Scraped our way out of regionals. A relatively straightforward season, marred only by a couple of losses which highlighted a weakness against agility teams. Made it back to conference in reasonable shape, ready to have another go. Blax Landric Conference League XXXVII: 4th Started the season by once again losing both wolves in the one game. This time against Khemri on a T16 beating that could probably have been avoided in the first place. Spent the rest of the season recovering, and managed to scrape into 4th place with a 2-2-2 result (plus 1 forfeit). Showed some more problems against agility teams, but overall a reasonable result for a team with no wolves. The team is once again set up perfectly for a run to premier, but we'll have to wait and see if they can finally perform this time. Duskwind Strongarms Conference XXXVIII: The best season yet. Despite losing to our biggest rivals, the impressively +St endowed Redhead's Revenge (who in the end didn't make it through, surplanted by a team we did beat which has to be good news), we managed to take out 1st place with a 6-0-1 result. The wolves sacrificed to Nuffle in previous seasons have paid off, as the games were mostly a doddle, despite the occasional idiotic coaching error on Irgy's part. The team lost no players, gained 4 fan factor and 52 TR. They are as well set up for premier as they could possibly be, with a "full" roster of 15 players, a good spread of skills, and 200k in cash to bring some friends along. Looking forward to next season. SWL Premier League XXXIX: Well, they had their chance but in the end found the more agile teams giving them the runaround. 3rd place looks respectable, but it was a season marred by two drop-outs so a 2-0-3 result was lucky to be enough for equal 3rd place (ahead on tiebreakers) of 6 teams. This season was their last, as the rules have changed and the teams are all being reset. Their coach is taking the opportunity to try his luck with one of the agility based teams that gave us so much trouble. Thanks to all my friends who participated in this team, particularly those who provided their own mugshots. We gave it our best, and although we never quite made it to the top we had a great time trying.
