Lizardkind was shocked and embarrassed after the now infamous defeat and disbanding of the New Primordial Plays in the Goons With Poons tournament. Never before had a might team of Lizardmen been so thoroughly crushed by such seemingly weak opponents, or disbanded so quickly after the match ended.

After the Plays disbanded, a number of Blood Bowl obsessed Lizardmen assembled and volunteered to take their place. This team was determined to show that the Plays were weaklings, and that the Lizardmen would not give up that easily.

Knowing how dangerous the game could be, they called themselves the Mesozoic Martyrs, and are determined to give a good showing, no matter the cost.
