One evening, a group of Orks decided to raid a Dwarven pub near the Blood Bowl pitch at which they would be partaking in a tournament the following day. They all drank most of the pub's stock, and then started a huge brawl that destroyed the pub. The owner of the pub, Korvek Gridiron, vowed to get revenge upon these Orks for such an insult. He wrote their name into his personal Book of Grudges, and at last minute assembled a Blood Bowl team for the tournament. They played safely the first few matches, biding their time until they got the chance to play the Orks who had slighted their coach. Korvek even went as far as bribing the other teams playing the Orks to purposefully lose. As such, both team made it to the finals.

The Grid Grudges demolished the Ork team. Paying no attention to the ball whatsoever, the Dwarves fought with all they had, injuring Ork after Ork. Although the Orks had scored several touchdowns during the game, with ten minutes left on the clock, they had no players left who could play the game; all were either dead or seriously injured. The Ork coach had to concede the game, giving the Grid Grudges their first tournament victory.

Although the Grid Grudges had expected to disband after this first tournament, they were slighted by many others during this tournament. They continue to play, hoping to exact revenge on those who played dishonorably on the pitch.
