In the rainy season of the Year of the Condor coach Raughri was trekking through the swamps of Lustria. On one fateful day stumbled across a race of humanoid frogs playing what could only be described as jungle rugby. Realising that these elegant amphibians could never excel at such a primitive game, he tricked their Old Ones to give him a group of players to mould into a squad capable of playing the greatest game in the world......Blood Bowl! Owing to the Coach’s inability to pronounce the names that these frogs had given to themselves, he named them after various French authors. Over the next six weeks he moulded them until he believed they were ready for the Blood Bowl arena and unleashed them in a Royal Rookie Rumble. Despite assurances from the coach that they were ready to play with the big boys, the frogs failed miserably on debut, losing to a fellow greenskin team of Orcs, who hit harder and handled the ball better than the Monsieur’s were able to. Their first game was a chastening experience which saw players die, get stat decreases and a couple cried off the next game. Determined to show that the only way to succeed was to get back on the horse, Coach Raughri, found them another game also against an Orc team. This led to another loss and more injuries. Left scratching his head as to Le Frogs’ inability to overcome their fellow greenskins, the coach sought a game against a Lizard team. Once again, two touchdowns were conceded but this time the frogs learned how to score and replied with three of their own to win the game 3-2. And so the team was launched onto the road to glory with the distant ambition of taking part in the greatest cup competition in the world, the Fumbbl Cup.
