"Can't we all just get along and play some Blood Bowl?"
That the motto of the All - Elf All - Stars, formed after 'the collapse' as numerous elf teams suffered financial trouble and players turning to freebooting to make ends meet.
It is somewhat ironic that a human would back a team building initiative to organize the unemployed straglers from various Elf teams, using the mantras "You are all still elves!", "Who are the best Blood Bowl players?" and the long winded and slightly less used, "Are you giving in to the inferior races? It looks to me you'd rather argue over tall towers or wooded glades or raiding human colonies than put your money where your mouth is and take it to the Dwarfs, Orcs, Humans, Rat-men...(it went on for a bit more, you can imagine the rest)".
But in the end, the messages sank in on some of the Elves and they organized. Though under funded they proved to be more than adequate on the pitch. Even though the players had to buy their own gear, they still got paid to play the game they loved, and stick a boot into someone's gibblies if they thought the ref wasn't looking.
Today the All - Stars bring in the money with a rarified and talented bunch of the best the elf race has to offer. Oh, they also have some re-treads they stick on line duty to keep the talent in better heath, but they don't mention that when recruiting new linemen...
