~New, improved starting roster~

Despite technically being now spelled "Schmaurus prime", Schmaurus marks the return of a team name that just speaks to me, replacing a legacy LRB4 designed team that was just not going to cut it.



~ Game 1 ~
2-0 win v. Norse

Both the blocking and casualty dice loved me from the start, and we soon owned the pitch, so much that we soon could safely try handing off to Sauri to score - which finally worked, and almost twice (for a 3-0 win).

No test of coaching, but I did do adequately - no obvious braincramps afaicr, at least.

No skills (yet), but 19 spp spread around, and a max 70k gate = apo +40 to spare.

~ Game 2 ~
2-0 win v. Chaos Dwarves


It's clear that when I'm being social and /chatting, I'm not focused on the game. But one missed RR'd pair of Catch rolls spelled the difference between a close game and this.

Krox was 1d frenzied, both down, both got Cas - Krox got (almost) meaningless -Ag, but also the skill (ROgre suffered -MA, to teach him not to 1d). Had time to skill a saurus, and another got mvp for another (and ignored 55 roll for Block)! Gate could replace RIP skink, but we'll go for a 3rd RR first.


~ Game 3 ~
0-1 loss v. Chaos Pact


Tat_Salat - looking forward to the game, despite Krox out mng. But he timed out on first turn after we were talking, and ~just~ before I moved my very last player to protect the ball. No pride, too desperate to not lose. Weak.

Skilled up skink, but Saurus out mng w/ -AV, and Journeyman stole mvp. So I think I'll have to hire him, even tho' he'll mng! :/


~ Game 4 ~
1-0 win v. Norse


The casualties got early traction against the AV 7 Norse, and that was the game. 10 spp from Cas - 6 Norse on the pitch for the 1st-half defensive score attempt, 7 to start the 2nd half, 4 to end the game, v. a (mostly) intact lizard roster.

Had the luxury to try to pickup the ball with a Saurus - failed miserably, or the score would have been higher.

~ Game 5 ~
2-0 win v. Humans


Against Rookie coach, so not something to brag about. Game should have been 3-1 - I passed on an uncontested Turn 8 score to make "one last block" against a Catcher with an unskilled Saurus (and skulled, natch), and then stupidly allowed a pass break-away that was only stopped by his lack of positioning and an Ag 1 5+ Dodge.

Got HAMMERED on Casualties! Saurus RIP Turn 1, Krox BH Turn 3, 2 players MNG and another Saurus saved from RIP on Turn 15, plus KO's. Last few turns had only 3 Sauri but all but one Skink were still in play - wow.

50k gate allowed replacement Saurus w/ 40k to spare, and Deadbone got Block (#3/6). Saurus & Skink will MNG, 1 journeyman.

~ Game 6 ~
3-0 win v. Ogres


Thought twice before offering this game - six St 5 MB Ogres, 4 w/ Guard, and me down a Saurus mng - but the unskilled St 1 Stunty Snotlings were too tempting. Started out rough - 1 saurus out on the very first Block - but then the dice started biting the ogres and it was game over even before it became absurd, with the pitch almost cleared of snots repeatedly. (However, despite the prospects, MB on one side and so many stunties, neither had reason to use their apo the rest of the game.)

3 skills, on Saurus Cobalt (cas + MVP = +St!), and on Skinks Smort (TD + cas = 5,5 for Blodger*) and Rivermeat ii (TD = sidestep). 1 perm, -MA on first-game saurus Cheech ii (and another on journeyman,and neither took a single spp - odd). 50k - just enough for Cheech iii.

(* Thought long and hard about Wrestle - more defensive - might have been the call, we'll see...)


~ Game 7 ~
1-0 win v. Chaos


We received, he got diced first half, and I couldn't pick up the loose ball 2nd half for 2-0. I should have tried to score w/ Saurus at end of 1st half, but was trying to thin the opposition, and muffed the final Turn 16 scoop. Ag 3 - only works for oppo's, apparently.

Necron got MVP for Block, Splort mng. Nice 70k gate - maybe one more game for 3rd RR?

Still fighting lost skinks to save for 3rd RR. (A mistake - now I know better...)
Game 5: And now a lost Saurus, almost back to square one. Some day...
Game 6: ...but not soon. Same Saurus -MA, replaced while he has 0 spp, 10k left, now truly square 1.
Game 7: Or... not! Max roll on a win = +70k, so only 40k to go for 120 - coin toss for after next game...
Game 8: Score. Roll a 5 + win for 60k. 3rd RR (and 20k still in the bank).
Game 9: Brutal. +St Saurus niggled, & a Blocker RIP'd. -AV Saurus got BT, and Blodge skink SS.
Game 10: v. Nurgle - Krox skilled for Stand Firm, back to full roster for Game 11.
Game 11: Krox boneheaded 4 times 1st half, and coach made it 5 by mis-playing a loose ball. Dice saved the score, allowing a thin win.
