Background:
The ruling princess of Pavona, Lucrezzia Belladonna is looking for a new husband, again. Her previous seven husbands have all found unfortunate and untimely deaths. While there are no certainties about who's responsible for their demise, there are plenty of rumours pointing towards the princess who's said to punish her husbands for their, mostly strategical, failures. Nowadays nobody in Pavona dares to present himself as a suitor to the most beautiful woman of Tilea.

While quite some of her husbands were high ranking officers or mercenary captains, she has changed her mind about what her requirements are for her future spouse. No longer is she looking for a husband who can lead an army well, because she is no longer looking to win wars. She has already won enough and she feels her current generals can take of any fighting to be done. After witnessing the glamour, grandeur, outstanding physique and mental excellence of some of the top participants in Blood Bowl, Lucrezzia has decided to participate in Grind Ball to make sure she will be early to spot the most cunning coach, powerful player or impressive apothecary. That's why she has started her own team, the Pavona Belladonnas.

Although unfamiliar with any sport resembling Grind Ball, she will still coach the team herself. The players in her team are the most agile men and women she could find, as she is convinced that agility and not strength is what will give the other teams the most difficulties. Not wanting to miss out on the monetary gains of her adventure, she has given her players fitting nicknames, mostly to "honour" her late husbands. Or perhaps to warn the next one of the price of failure.
