TEAM BIO Hailing from the engineering quarter of the mighty city of Altdorf the Thunderbolts have a massive following of human and dwarf alike. The Team is sponsored by BAE Systems, a proud manufacturer of steam tanks. There have been rumours that a second sponsor in the form of one of the college of magic is also involved but any allegations to either the wizards or the shadowy owners of the franchise are always flatly denied. The fact that the games are always first to be put onto cabalvision is due purely to the massive popularity of the team amongst the fans: obviously! STADIUM The BAE Systems Arena sits right next to the river, surrounded by clanking factories spewing out foul gases and fumes. Sadly no grass will grow for the pitch, so Astrogranite (TM) has been installed. There is special tiered seating in the Riverside stand with extra long seats for Dwarf fans so they can see over the heads of those more leg-endowed in front of them. TEAM GRUDGES We hate the Broekwater "Patriots" after the death of Jerry Harris, all star quarterback, in our first game. Hacked down in the prime of his life by a foul TEAM SPONSOR Did you know? The Thunderbolts hope to one day deploy a steam tank on the pitch. They have one used to scrape the remains of players off the surface after matches ("Old Sparky") and there will surely be enough of a bribe raised at some point to see her take the field.(press the star for more) Did you know? Some say that even the mention of the word Patriot will cause Thunderbolts fans to embark on an orgy of violence and destruction (press the star for more) Did you know? The Thunderbolts team colours are officially navy blue and silver, but opposing fans like to think of the silver as being grey (press the star for more) Did you know? The Thunderbolts mascot was a giant lightning bolt. Sadly while performing with the "Boltettes" Mike the hapless costume wearer was "accidentally" hit with a bolt of lightning from the sky. It seems even wizards like an uninterrupted view of the nubile young ladies employed as cheerleaders. Since this episode it has proved impossible to get someone to volunteer to wear the (slightly scorched) costume (press the star for more) Season 1 round up Well the death of Jerry in the very first game was a bit of a hammer blow but we pushed on through. Some really good moments and some awful ones meant we threw away games we could have tied or won. Next season we will be back and stronger. I think the smaller groups will suit us as no one will want to visit the BAE Systems Arena ("The Thunderdome")...
